European Public Service Union Congress
FRINGE MEETING
DUBLIN
Anglesea Rd, Royal Dublin Society
Board Room
Building Solidarity with Palestinian Workers
Wednesday 5 June
17:30-18:30
For over half a century the military occupation of the West Bank and Gaza has undermined any prospects of a viable Palestinian economy and the right to decent work. Thousands of Palestinians are forced to seek precarious work in the illegal Israeli settlements, or endure long queues and humiliating treatment at checkpoints, in order to access work in Israel.
Join us at the event to learn about:
- New research highlighting the impact of European business and trade with the illegal settlements on decent work;
- How trade unions are working to defend the right to decent work;
- The impact of the occupation on public services;
- The establishment of the European Trade Union Network for Justice for Palestine.
With the participation of:
Patricia McKeown – Irish Congress of Trade Unions
Denis Keane – Forsa
Koen Vanbrabandt – La Centrale Générale FGTB
Mette Nord/Stein Guldbrandsen – Fagforbundet
Paul Glover – UNISON
